Casting for X-men: First Class is well underway. McAvoy is Xavier, Walker is Beast, and Fassbender is close to landing Magneto (or has already been cast depending on the sources). We’ve heard rumours of half a dozen other actors competing for roles, and some tid-bits about scouting locations. But what about plot? Today we get a vague, if not predictable description courtesy of an action. Bryan Singer has donated a visit to the London set of X-men: First Class to an online auction for Project Angel Food. The winner will visit the movie set and meet the actors as Singer’s personal guest. A short description on the action site gives us our first official plot synopsis say:
Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-MEN.
While not profound or surprising, it’s nice to have something official to turn to. Are you excited about First Class or crossing your fingers against a cinematic snafu?
